An enthusiastic and detail-oriented Barista responsible for delivering outstanding beverage service, upholding Raffles brand and LQA standards, and contributing to the overall guest experience through product knowledge, presentation, and personalized service.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure consistent adherence to LQA, HACCP, and brand service standards across all beverage operations.
- Prepare and serve a variety of specialty coffees, teas, mocktails, and cocktails with precision and presentation aligned to brand expectations.
- Accurately follow all beverage recipes and portion specifications, maintaining high quality and minimizing waste.
- Warmly engage with guests, take orders efficiently, and make tailored recommendations on beverage pairings.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the bar and workstation in compliance with health, safety, and hygiene protocols .
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively report restocking needs for beverages, ingredients, barware, and tools.
- Set up and close down the bar area, including mise-en-place, equipment cleaning, and maintenance routines .
- Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system to process orders, close checks, and perform cashiering procedures accurately.
- Support the Food & Beverage team during busy service periods; assist with restocking, bussing, and table resetting as needed.
- Promote and upsell daily specials, seasonal beverages, and premium items to enhance revenue.
- Ensure compliance with local licensing laws and responsible service of alcohol where applicable.
- Stay informed on hotel updates, outlet memos, and VIP guest arrivals, taking appropriate action where necessary.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of all food and beverage menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
- Provide unobtrusive and professional food & beverage service, using appropriate service ware at all times.
- Report guest concerns and feedback to the supervisor or manager, including how it was handled.
- Assist with maintaining restaurant cleanliness, organization, and stock levels, including condiments and operating equipment.
- Participate in training initiatives , act as a role model to colleagues, and support team members throughout the shift.
- Assist in the supervision of the outlet , ensuring consistency and service excellence during operations.
- Take ownership of personal performance, support colleague development , and lead by example.
- Learn and utilize operational systems including MICROS, OPERA , and internal communication platforms.
- Support other outlets or extended shifts as required based on operational needs.
- Understand outlet KPIs and management goals , and contribute toward achieving targets.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by management in line with operational needs.
Qualifications
Qualifications :
- Minimum of secondary school education.
- Barista and / or bartending certification is preferred.
Experience :
- 1–2 years experience in a 5-star hotel or luxury F&B environment .
- Proven barista and / or bartender experience in a café, restaurant, or hotel setting.
- Knowledge of beverage preparation techniques, classic cocktails, mocktails, and brewing methods.
- Familiarity with Micros, Opera , and cash-handling processes.
- Strong understanding of 5-star service delivery, guest engagement, and up-selling techniques.
- Flexible with shifts and available for extended hours during peak operations
