Job description

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepare and serve beverage orders according to recipes and service standards.
  2. Be fully knowledgeable about all bar products and cocktail recipes.
  3. Upsell with each customer to enhance sales.
  4. Provide high-quality, personalized, efficient, and friendly service.
  5. Prepare mise en place and perform side duties.
  6. Collect all requisitions for food and beverages.
  7. Adhere strictly to opening and closing procedures and check beverage stock.
  8. Understand and prepare garnishes for all beverage items and cocktails.
  9. Keep the bar counter and surrounding area clean and organized at all times.
  10. Monitor operating supplies to reduce spoilage and wastage.
  11. Handle guest inquiries courteously and efficiently.
  12. Establish rapport with guests and maintain good customer relationships.
  13. Perform cashiering functions, ensuring adherence to cash handling procedures.
  14. Display premium liquors properly on shelves with correct quantities.
  15. Prepare garnishes for all cocktails before opening the bar.
  16. Coach and train new recruits through on-the-job training.
  17. Perform duties in the Banqueting Department or other areas as assigned.
  18. Assist in employee training to ensure maximum efficiency.
  19. Participate in inventory counts of operating equipment periodically.
  20. Report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and maintaining personal hygiene standards.
  21. Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service consistently.
  22. Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and other departments.
  23. Read and adhere to the hotel’s Employee Handbook, policies, and safety regulations.
  24. Comply with local legislation as required.
  25. Respond flexibly to departmental changes and meet hotel needs.
  26. Perform other duties as assigned, including redeployment if necessary.
  27. Attend training sessions and meetings as required.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications: Diploma or degree in vocational hospitality, with 1-2 years experience in a 4-5 star hotel.
