Job summary

The Data Scientist will design and deploy risk models across treasury, wholesale banking, and corporate lending, translating complex financial problems into precise analytical solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building statistical risk models in banking.
• Strong grounding in quantitative, mathematical, and probabilistic concepts underlying ML.
• Proficiency in Python and scientific stack (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn).
• Knowledge of Basel III/IV, regulatory capital calculations, and stress testing.
• Ability to explain complex trade-offs to technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience with experiments and causal analysis in finance.
• Experience with Transformers/sequence models for financial tasks.
• Experience with processing large data using PySpark, Spark, or Dask.
• Ability to create interactive narratives and dashboards for exec audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement statistical risk models for corporate lending, wholesale banking, liquidity, and treasury operations (PD, LGD, EAD).
• Develop capital optimization modules (RAROC, RAC) to improve risk-adjusted returns.
• Ensure Basel III/IV compliance and regulatory stress testing across models.
• Write clean, modular Python code and participate in peer reviews.
• Collaborate with risk officers, analysts, and tech leads to translate requirements and present findings.
