Job Description:

JOB OBJECTIVES:
Fabrication / machining of motor, generator and other equipment parts, built up and machining of rotor shaft bearing journals, skimming and polishing of communicator and fabrication of some misc. damaged parts for motors, generators, circuit breakers, and other electrical equipment in workshop.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Policies, Processes & Procedures:
   Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
   Follow and comply with Information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.
2. Day-to-day operations:
   Fabricate / machine sleeving for end cover, bearing retainers for motor and generators.
   Build-up and machine bearing journals for motors and generators.
   Skim and polish commutators and slip rings for motors and generators.
   Fabricate / machine some misc. damaged parts for motors, generators, circuit and electrical equipment.
   Select and use proper measuring tools (Vernier, caliper, inside / outside calipers, micrometer).
   Maintain good working relationship with workers, appointed foreman, supervisors and management.
   Perform duties of a Foreman as required / appointed for individual projects.
   Ensure materials are of required standard prior to use, reporting damages when required.
   Work within allocated timescale to meet department targets.
   Attend any training for any activity required by the department.
   Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas.
   Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.

   Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
   Follow and comply with Information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.

   Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Language skills:
Fair knowledge of English language. Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage. Ability to understand spoken and written instruction.

Technical competencies:
Operation of Lathe machine.
Select and use appropriate measuring / testing devices.
Read and understand technical drawings.
Select and use appropriate tools, equipment, materials and machines.
Apply knowledge of appropriate engineering principles, techniques and procedures.

Education: Secondary school or any other relevant qualification / Diploma in a relevant field
Training: I.T.I., Industrial / Vocational training / Shipyard training, Technical course on Lathe machine operation
Experience: 2-3 years of experience / 3-5 yrs. experience in marine, oil & gas and offshore industry
