Job summary

Housecall is redefining primary healthcare delivery with an AI-enabled technology platform. We’re looking for a Backend Software Engineer with strong PHP / Laravel experience to build and improve core platform services.

You’ll collaborate closely with product, frontend, and mobile engineers to ship features end-to-end, raise code quality, and improve performance and reliability. Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs in Laravel/PHP.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building production systems with PHP and Laravel.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs (authentication, pagination, versioning).
• Familiar with Git and modern development workflows (PRs, reviews, CI/CD).
• Experience writing automated tests (PHPUnit and/or Pest).
• Clear communicator who can collaborate in a remote team.
• Nice to have Redis, queues, background jobs, and event-driven patterns.
• Cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Familiarity with data interoperability standards such as HL7 2.x and FHIR for health information exchange.
