Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional backend development with production systems.
• At least 3 years of strong Laravel experience on live projects.
• Proficient in OOP, SOLID, design patterns and system design.
• Strong data modelling and scalability instincts.
• Experience with Shopify APIs, MySQL tuning, Redis and queue-based processing.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Linux, Git, CI/CD and monitoring.
• Testing as a habit; CI/CD and reliability focus.
• Clear written communication and design defense.

Responsibilities

• Design backend services in Laravel from architecture to production.
• Develop core platform capabilities: data modelling, APIs, background jobs.
• Design secure, well-documented REST APIs.
• Build event-driven systems with queues and async processing.
• Optimize database performance and scalability.
• Write automated tests and improve release practices.
• Integrate third-party services including commerce and AI APIs.
• Review code and raise engineering standards.
