Job summary

Techcarrot in Dubai is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable microservices using Node.js and TypeScript. You will develop API-first solutions, deploy on AKS, and manage APIs with Azure API Management.

You will collaborate with product, QA, DevOps and architecture teams, implement OAuth 2.0 security, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, with a focus on performance and observability.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of hands-on backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services, especially AKS, API management and Key Vault.
• Good understanding of with Docker and Kubernetes concepts.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of API security best practices and OWASP guidelines.
• Understanding of Ecommerce and Order management journey
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build API-first solutions using REST standards and OpenAPI specifications.
• Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Publish, secure, and manage APIs using Azure API Management (APIM).
• Integrate backend services with internal and external systems using synchronous and asynchronous patterns.
• Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and Azure AD.
• Ensure high code quality through testing, reviews and CI/CD automation.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and tracing using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps and architecture teams.
• Ability to work independently on features and contribute to design discussions.
