Job summary

Salt in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Agent Runtime Platform Engineer to help build enterprise infrastructure powering AI agents and agentic applications. The 12-month contract is based in Abu Dhabi.

You will design and implement cloud-native runtime patterns for AI agents, MCP servers, APIs and containerised services on Azure, AKS, Kubernetes, with Terraform and CI/CD tooling. This is not a purely AI/ML role but a platform engineering focus for production workloads.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on engineering experience in Platform Engineering or DevOps.
• Proven ability to design cloud-native platforms and automate infrastructure.
• Experience with Azure, AKS, Kubernetes and IaC tooling.
• Knowledge of security patterns, observability and production operations.
• Experience building self-service platform capabilities for engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build enterprise runtime patterns for AI agents, MCP servers, APIs and containerised services.
• Build cloud-native platforms using AKS, Azure Container Apps, Kubernetes, containers, queues and event-driven architecture.
• Develop reusable infrastructure and deployment patterns for consistent provisioning across environments.
• Create self-service platform capabilities, including templates, SDKs and paved-road deployment patterns.
• Establish standards for agent manifests, runtime configuration and tool definitions.
• Define secure patterns for connecting agents to LLMs/models and enterprise APIs.
• Build reusable infrastructure using Terraform and IaC.
• Automate deployments and release processes through CI/CD tooling.
• Standardise networking, workload identity, secrets management and API gateways.
