Job Description
This role is primarily responsible for supervising and authorizing transactions related to Treasury Operations while ensuring compliance with all internal procedures and operational controls, to ensure smooth workflow and delivery of high-quality and timely service to clients. This role also involves analyzing and addressing process-related risks, and developing and maintaining efficient processes and systems for the Treasury Operations function in the bank.
Job Context:
- Responsible for effectively checking, verifying, and authorizing transactions, ensuring processing is carried out in a controlled manner.
- Monitoring compliance with regulatory guidelines and local/international sanctions, and improving controls to identify and mitigate risks.
- Ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures by self and staff, and recommending or implementing changes in policies, procedures, processes, and systems in line with industry developments.
- Developing and implementing robust tools and processes to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Supporting the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and practices to enhance cost efficiency.
- Supporting the line manager in maintaining high employee satisfaction levels in accordance with bank policy.
- Ensuring strict compliance with Anti-Money Laundering, Central Bank guidelines, and internal policies, and reporting any unusual transactions.
- Staying informed of industry developments and sharing relevant information with staff.
- Proactively identifying extraordinary non-operational risks such as market and legal risks arising from transactions.
- Preparing statistical data for internal and external stakeholders.
- Responding to queries and resolving issues with internal customers and external counterparts.
- Communicating with customers and external/internal contacts routinely.
- Providing technical guidance to customers when needed.
- Maintaining records securely.
- Participating in and implementing projects, system development, and other departmental initiatives.
- Supporting the line manager in staff development, coaching, performance monitoring, and training.
- Preparing SOPs in accordance with audit and RMU requirements.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications
- Graduate, preferably in Commerce, Financial Services, Banking & Finance, etc.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Treasury Operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
