Job Title : Assistant Vice President – Climate Risk

About the Role :

We are seeking a driven and experienced professional to join our Strategic Risk Management function as an Assistant Vice President, Climate Risk . This critical role will focus on the integration and advancement of climate risk practices within the Group’s risk framework, aligning with evolving regulatory requirements and international best practices.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across multiple functions and regions to embed climate risk considerations into governance frameworks, scenario analysis, disclosures, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and coordinate the development of a robust climate risk framework to identify, measure, monitor, and manage financial risks arising from climate change.
  • Deliver climate risk scenario analyses, interpret results, and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Integrate climate risk into core governance and risk processes including portfolio analysis, risk appetite, and ICAAP.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for financial risk implications related to climate change across the Group.
  • Monitor and respond to evolving climate-related regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Credit Portfolio Management, Market Risk, and international branches to ensure global alignment and compliance.
  • Contribute to Board-level discussions by supporting scenario analysis and reporting climate risk impacts.
  • Support training, awareness, and development of internal capabilities in climate risk.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable legal and regulatory obligations.

Candidate Profile :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Relevant professional certification (e.g. GARP SCR) is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in risk management within the banking sector, preferably in a leading international financial institution.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing risk frameworks, particularly in the area of climate or ESG risk.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations and risk management best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work collaboratively across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory expectations and global climate-related disclosure standards.
