The CIB Business Finance team comprises functions globally supporting products like Global Corporate Finance, Transaction Banking, Global Markets, and Coverage. The unit reports to the CFO, IB, CCB & International.

Key priorities of this role include :

  • Acting as a trusted Finance advisor on business performance & strategic issues.
  • Providing world-class financial reporting & support services, adding value through professional, independent, & objective financial advice.
  • Producing financial & management accounting reports in line with Group standards, maintaining a robust control environment.

The GCF Business Finance functions handle all finance matters for the business, including Performance, Control, Forecasting, Budgeting, & Strategy, supporting other Group Finance functions like Treasury, FP&A, Tax, and Regulatory Reporting.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Business Partnering

  • Enhance value-added business partnership to drive performance.

Reporting

  • Develop and prepare MIS reports meeting the needs of Business, Department & Group.
  • Identify opportunities for system, process, and practice improvements.
  • Support policy, product, system, and procedure implementation for the team.

Specific Accountability

  • Ensure Finance acts as a key business partner and trusted advisor for GCF.
  • Provide insights and commentary for business management forums and reports.
  • Support development of Customer/Segment MIS for CIB & International.
  • Conduct detailed P&L analysis of GCF Business performance.
  • Serve as the main finance contact for International Coverage & GCF queries.
  • Support VP, Business Finance, GCF & Coverage, ensuring compliance and sustainability.
  • Manage day-to-day and month-end controls of P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliation and reporting.
  • Oversee GCF Account Ownership Verification (AOV) process.
  • Coordinate audit activities and support external audit requirements.
  • Contribute to the preparation of ADNL subsidiary financials and audit responses.
  • Lead CIB transformation initiatives and finance deliverables.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to GCF Business Finance policies.
  • Manage projects related to new regulations in international locations.
  • Ensure compliance in accounting practices for new products or variations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with senior business leaders and enablement functions.
  • Collaborate with Treasury on FTP, capital, and liquidity issues.
  • Contribute to Finance strategy activities and regional/global programs.
  • Continuously assess and improve the quality of financial data and advice provided to stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Review and enhance existing systems, processes, and MIS.
  • Provide leadership and development for the CIB Business Finance team.

Qualifications :

  • Qualified Finance Professional e.g., ACA / ICAEW, CIMA, CFA.
  • Technical knowledge of Wholesale & Investment Banking products.
  • Experience managing a finance team at a leading international bank.
  • Ability to liaise with Business leaders, CFOs, auditors, and consultants.
  • Experience with reporting tools like Excel, Oracle OBIEE, Power BI, Microsoft Reporting Services.
  • Strong leadership and strategic influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and integrity, capable of delivering under pressure.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar role at an international bank.
