Job description

In the role of AVP / Audit Manager or as part of an audit team, perform risk-based audits of the Departments / Units within FAB Group’s Consumer, Private and Islamic Banking Functions, ensuring governance, risk management, and controls are in place to mitigate inherent risks. Develop expertise and train team members, communicating the Bank’s culture and values. Work independently using GIA tools to complete audits, set priorities, and ensure quality and targets are met. Conduct special investigations, reviews, and additional tasks as required by VP / SVP / GCAO.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Strategic Contribution

  • Assist in auditing FAB Group’s Consumer, Private, and Islamic Banking functions across the UAE and internationally, including Group subsidiaries.
  • Ensure audits align with the Annual Plan and are completed efficiently. Notify management of delays or changes.

People Management

Guide and train junior colleagues, promote knowledge sharing, and uphold the bank’s values and ethics.

Budgeting and Financial Performance

  • Monitor financial performance against budgets, report variances, and ensure activities comply with guidelines.
  • Follow GIA policies and contribute to developing industry-standard practices.
  • Review activities within Consumer, Private, and Islamic Banking to define and maintain the Audit Universe, coordinating with other teams for coverage.
  • Maintain Risk Assessments and Audit programs, promoting self-assessment of risks and controls.
  • Conduct audits to assess risk management, governance, data integrity, asset safeguarding, and resource efficiency.
  • Finalize audit reports within 3 weeks, negotiate Management Action Plans, and lead process improvements.

Relationship Management

  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as an Audit Business Partner for line managers.
  • Provide governance, risk management, and control advice, ensuring follow-up on audit issues and corrective actions.
  • Conduct investigations or special reviews as assigned.

Reporting

Prepare timely, accurate reports meeting group standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (higher qualifications or certifications preferred).
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in international banking, Big 4, or internal audit.
  • Knowledge of retail, commercial, and wholesale banking risks and policies.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills. Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
