Job summary

Serco is seeking expressions of interest for the Watch Manager role to oversee the management and performance of the watch in 24/7 Rescue & Firefighting Services (RFFS) with ICAO category aviation incident response. The position covers civilian and military aircraft, implementing SRFF services and acting as Fire and Rescue SME for contract management.

The role requires extensive fire/rescue experience, supervisory credentials, and compliance with international watch manager qualifications across

Qualifications

• 5–10 years’ experience in fire/rescue services with 5 years in supervision at ICAO Category 6 airfield or above.
• At least 3 of the last 5 years in an equivalent supervisory position.
• FVEY national and passport holder.
• Valid heavy vehicle operator license in country of origin and able to obtain UAE equivalence.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall operational leadership and command of the Watch.
• Lead, manage and support personnel during incidents.
• Take command of aviation, structural and other emergency incidents.
• Coordinate RFFS resources during emergency response.
• Make operational decisions based on information and risk.
• Coordinate aircraft firefighting and rescue operations.
• Ensure safe preservation and rescue of endangered life.
• Lead incidents requiring breathing apparatus.
• Support Aerodrome Emergency Plan execution.
• Coordinate with other emergency agencies and stakeholders.
• Conduct operational briefings and debriefings.
• Maintain readiness of equipment and personnel.
• Provide leadership to Crew Managers and Firefighters.
