We are seeking an outstanding AV (Audio Visual) Technician to join our exceptional team from October 2026. The successful candidate will inspire curiosity, foster a passion for scientific enquiry and contribute to the continued success of one of the UAE's leading international schools.
Responsibilites
- Ensure reliable AV infrastructure for auditoriums, podcast rooms, drama studios, meeting rooms, and event spaces.
- Enable teachers, staff and students to use technology effectively for meetings, events,podcasts and school productions.
- L1 support for the classroom technology and cabling.
Installation & maintenance:
- Install, configure, relocate, and maintain AV/lighting devices: projectors, interactive displays, speakers, microphones, mixing consoles, cameras, control systems, and digital signage.
- Perform routine cleaning, testing, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs; arrange external service for complex faults.
- Maintain service manuals, asset inventories, warranties, and replacement plans
Event Performance and Support
- Set up and operate professional sound, lighting, projection, video, and live-streaming systems for assemblies, concerts, graduations, parent events, conferences, exhibitions, and sports.
- Run sound/lighting boards, manage multi-camera live streams and recordings, and provide calm troubleshooting during live events.
- Manage the student community in a professional way. Address their requirements and provide the support inline with the school safeguarding policy.
- Advise event planners on technical solutions, risks, room layouts, staging, and logistics.
Classroom and teaching support
- Prepare and set up AV resources for Music, Drama, Art, and general lessons; support practical lessons with recordings and showcases.
- Provide tier-1 support and training to staff/students on using projectors, microphones, speakers, control panels, and basic software.
- Support exam recordings, lectures, and academic assessments that require audio/video capture.
- Lead or Manage the schoool musical events. This includes managing the students of different age level, teaching them the scope of work for the musical show.
- Lead or Manage the students with AV technology aspirations and students lead them on how to use the technology at DAA.
Systems, safety, and compliance
- Ensure setups meet health & safety standards (e.g. safe rigging, cable management, electrical safety) and liaise with MSO managers for performances.
- Develop simple user guides and documentation; keep logs of productions, repairs, and service requests.
