The Auto Mechanic Technician is responsible for the comprehensive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a range of heavy-duty diesel-powered and electrically operated equipment. This includes forklifts, cranes, bobcats, scissor lifts, and cleaning equipment. The role demands a high level of technical expertise in diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and general mechanics, with a focus on ensuring equipment reliability and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance (PM):
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks according to manufacturer specifications and company guidelines to maximize equipment uptime and longevity.
- Conduct inspections of all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, identifying and addressing potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
- Service and maintain fluid levels (engine oil, transmission fluid, coolant, hydraulic fluid), filters, belts, hoses, and tires.
- Lubricate moving parts to minimize wear and ensure smooth operation.
- Corrective Maintenance (CM):
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults and failures in a timely and efficient manner.
- Overhaul and repair diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulic systems.
- Replace defective parts and components, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed for repairs.
- Troubleshooting:
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify the root cause of equipment malfunctions.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to aid in troubleshooting and repairs.
- Employ systematic troubleshooting techniques to minimize downtime.
- Periodic Checks:
- Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment to ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Perform pre- and post-operation checks to identify any issues.
- Test and adjust equipment systems to optimize performance.
- Equipment-Specific Maintenance:
- Forklifts (CAT, Linde): Service and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic lifting systems, steering mechanisms, and braking systems and Engine troubleshooting.
- Combilift: Maintain multi-directional steering systems, specialized load handling components, and engine management systems and Troubleshooting.
- Bobcat: Service compact diesel engines, hydraulic attachments, and drive systems and Engine Troubleshooting.
- Rough Terrain Mobile Cranes (Tadano, Locatelli, Terex): Inspect and repair crane booms, hydraulic lifting mechanisms, outriggers, and safety systems. Service diesel engines and transmissions, Engine troubleshooting.
- Hydraulic Scissor Lifts: Maintain electrical and hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and control circuits. Inspect and repair safety features.
- Floor Cleaning Equipment (Tennant S20): Service engines, brushes, vacuum systems, and solution/recovery systems, Engine troubleshooting.
- Pressure Washer (Karcher HDS 10/20): Maintain high-pressure pumps, heating systems, and chemical injection systems.
- Hydraulic Systems:
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic circuits, including valves, hoses, and fittings.
- Repair and rebuild hydraulic jacks, pumps, and cylinders.
- Perform hydraulic system testing and pressure adjustments.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and time spent.
- Complete work orders and service reports in a timely and detailed manner.
- Provide clear and concise communication to supervisors and operators regarding equipment status.
- Safety:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:
- Education:
- Diploma or Certification in Automotive/Diesel Mechanics or a related field from a recognized vocational school or technical institute.
- Experience:
- 5-7 years of proven experience as an Auto Electrical and Mechanic Technician, specifically working with heavy-duty equipment.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel injection, ignition, and emission control.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems.
- Solid understanding of auto electrical systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Other Skills:
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills. Hindi and/or English Language
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
