Job description

Electrician - Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications on electrical systems across various company-owned equipment and vehicles.

  1. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical systems.
  2. Use skilled techniques and equipment, including lighting lights, voltage testers, motor winding testers, and hand tools.
  3. Diagnose faults and execute repairs using electrical testing equipment like ammeters and ohmmeters.
  4. Conduct routine repairs to lighting, ignition, alternators, and starters on plant, heavy equipment, boats, and light vehicles.
  5. Perform preventive maintenance checks, including lights, gauges, and battery conditions.
  6. Carry out critical maintenance or repair tasks on rotating equipment, including disassembly, cleaning, and rebuilding of components.
  7. Execute electrical overhauls on major systems or equipment, such as rewiring and motor rewinding.
  8. Assist with mechanical maintenance work as part of a team.
  9. Maintain batteries for reliable output and replace faulty low-tension wiring.
  10. Ensure workshop equipment and tools are in good condition.
  11. Follow safety policies and manufacturer recommendations.
  12. Provide information on spare parts requirements and assist in commissioning and testing new electrical systems or equipment.
  13. Assist in electrical work for vehicle registration and roadworthiness testing preparations.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
  1. Secondary education (12 years), followed by a recognized electrical training course, ideally specializing in vehicle electrical systems, equivalent to 2 years full-time study.
  2. Minimum 4 years of practical experience in a heavy vehicle equipment maintenance workshop, preferably in the Gulf region.
  3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electronic wiring diagrams and troubleshooting skills.
  4. Good command of written and spoken English.
