Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Authorities Liaison Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this critical role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between our organization and various government authorities, ensuring smooth communication and compliance with local regulations for our engineering projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage all interactions with regulatory bodies and government authorities in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
  • Prepare and submit technical documentation, permit applications, and other required paperwork to relevant authorities.
  • Analyze and interpret local and international engineering standards and regulations to ensure project compliance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in government agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct regular meetings with internal teams to communicate regulatory requirements and updates.
  • Monitor and track the progress of permit applications and approvals.
  • Identify potential regulatory issues and propose solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure designs meet local requirements and standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on liaison activities, regulatory changes, and project status for senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Architecture, or related field).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering liaison roles in the UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE regulatory framework and approval processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with government officials and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office suite.
  • Advanced knowledge of local and international engineering standards and regulations.
  • Outstanding documentation and report writing skills.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are highly desirable.
  • Professional ADM Engineering license is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with government authorities and regulatory bodies in master planning and infrastructure projects within the UAE.
  • Familiarity with construction and engineering practices in the UAE.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
