We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Authorities Engineer to join our team.
Position Overview
This role involves working with the ALEC Authorities team to ensure compliance with all regulations and requirements related to project construction, delivery, and operations. The Authorities Engineer will provide guidance, support, and ensure the timely processing of permit applications and inspections by local authorities.
Core Job Functions
- Confirm the availability of Authorities Permits, NOCs, and approved drawings on site.
- Verify no clashes between approved Authorities drawings and IFC/construction shop drawings.
- Prepare documents and test results for municipality structural inspections, coordinating with Site Engineers and QAQC Department.
- Ensure ALEC structural inspections are completed prior to municipality inspections.
- Submit inspection requests to the Municipality Engineer.
- Conduct structural inspections with the Municipality Engineer.
- Perform inspections with local authority engineers (e.g., RAK Municipality, Civil Defence, ETIHAD, ETISALAT).
- Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports.
- Update the site team on new Authorities regulations or instructions, in coordination with the Authorities Manager.
- Secure all required construction NOCs and permits.
- Prepare documentation for project close-out and obtaining the Authorities Building Completion Certificate (BCC).
- Attend site meetings related to safety, design coordination, etc., as assigned.
- Participate in internal Authorities Department meetings and prepare periodic reports.
- Complete all required exams by local authorities, coordinated by the Authorities Manager.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Site Authorities Manager or Authorities Department Manager.
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure timely delivery.
- Comply with ALEC's culture, strategy, values, code of conduct, and policies.
Requirements
- BSc in Civil Engineering.
- Proven 2-5 years experience as an Authorities Liaison Engineer in the construction industry in Abu Dhabi.
- UAE SOE Membership.
- Experience with AD Authorities Portals: IPS, ITC portal, ADDC portal, MEPS-TAMM, etc.
- Experience with AD Local Authorities: ADM Municipality, Civil Defence, ITC, DU, ADNOC, Tabreed, ADDC, ETISALAT, etc.
- ADM Municipality Accreditation.
- Equivalency for your certificate in UAE.
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in verbal and written Arabic and English.
- Good communication skills.
- Proficient in computer skills.
