Support the development of the Internal Audit Annual Plan and conducting the internal audits, ensuring it aligns with critical operational and compliance areas. Responsible for ensuring adherence to regulations and DET’s rules and processes. Additionally, collaborate with DET stakeholders to discuss the internal audit outcomes, recommend remedial actions, and assess progress.
- Conduct special assignments and investigative reviews based on indication of some critical/fraudulent activities, information received from whistle-blower, or on the request from the senior management.
- Conduct internal audits in line with DET policies, standards, and regulatory requirements, ensuring that field work is conducted thoroughly and with appropriate sampling to verify that internal controls are working sufficiently.
- Ensure that key audit observations are captured, and prepare internal audit reports for submission to the Director of Financial Audit, in line with the audit planning cycle.
- Coordinate with the relevant stakeholders across the DET Group to discuss audit outcomes and observations, and recommend remedial actions as needed, to strengthen controls.
- Coordinate with the concerned stakeholders and leaders in order to discuss progress in relation to the agreed-upon remedial actions.
- Maintain and form strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management within DET, Financial Audit Authority (FAA), and external third parties.
- Support in contribution to the strategic performance of the Internal Audit Section, identify areas of strength and development, and recommend improvement initiatives as needed.
- Coordinate with external auditors as needed to ensure that internal control weaknesses are addressed and the internal audit processes enhanced.
- Ensure that all internal audit activities are align with the DET's Internal Audit Manual.
- Remain abreast of UAE and Dubai regulatory oversight trends related to internal audit.
