Job summary

Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in Abu Dhabi is seeking an AI Researcher focused on multimodal generative AI with a primary focus on audio, including speech and music generation. The role offers opportunities to lead research programs, mentor researchers, and collaborate with industry and academia.

You will design and evaluate novel architectures, work through the full research lifecycle, and contribute to open-source releases while advancing the center’s strategic goals and governance

Qualifications

• PhD preferred in CS/AI or related field or a Master with demonstrated research output.
• Expertise in audio AI topics such as speech/audio generation, TTS, or audio representation learning.
• Strong evidence of research outputs (papers, preprints, theses, or open-source work).
• Solid understanding of modern AI architectures, training paradigms, and evaluation methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape multimodal generation research programs with emphasis on Speech/Audio LLMs and generative audio.
• Design, train, evaluate novel architectures for audio and multimodal systems; manage datasets and experiments.
• Collaborate with internal centers, industry partners, and academia; present research findings at venues.
• Maintain high standards of responsible AI, governance, and reusable research components; contribute to open-source releases.
