Job summary

SGS is seeking a seasoned operations professional to lead vehicle inspection centres and mobile units in the UAE. You will ensure readiness, manage workflows, regulatory documentation and cross-functional coordination with transport authorities and customers.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, 3–5 years in vehicle inspection or TIC-related operations, and English language proficiency with Arabic preferred for local liaison. ISO 17020 exposure is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Automobile, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Exposure to vehicle inspection, automotive diagnostics, workshop operations, quality, HSE or ISO/IEC 17020 preferred.
  • Process-oriented, customer-focused and operationally strong profile with hands-on coordination capability.
  • English communication required; Arabic speaking preferred.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in vehicle inspection, automotive service operations, fleet inspection, workshop operations or TIC-related technical operations.
  • Understanding of inspection processes, safety checks, vehicle condition assessment, reporting, manpower coordination and customer handling.
  • Knowledge of UAE/GCC vehicle inspection requirements, transport authority procedures, operating standards and service quality controls preferred.
  • Ability to manage KPIs, turnaround time, inspection quality, non-conformities, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in product compliance, conformity assessment, certification support or technical documentation review.
  • Exposure to telecom, wireless, IoT, electrical/electronics product categories and related GCC/Middle East approval schemes.
  • Understanding of applicable schemes such as type approval, G-Mark, ECAS, SABER, IECEE, RoHS or energy efficiency programs preferred.
  • Ability to review compliance evidence, identify gaps, follow up with clients/labs and support timely certification submissions.

Responsibilities
