Job summary

First Medical Center in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Associate Staff Physician specializing in General Anesthesiology to provide safe, effective anesthesia care for patients undergoing surgical and diagnostic procedures. You will collaborate with surgeons and theatre teams to support patient safety throughout the perioperative period.

Qualifications

• Recognized specialist qualification in Anesthesiology.
• Experience appropriate to the Associate Staff Physician position and UAE licensing requirements.
• Eligibility for or an active licence from the relevant UAE health authority as required.
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques perioperative assessment airway management and emergency response.
• Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and evaluate patients' histories and anesthesia risks.
• Develop individualized anesthesia plans according to patient needs and procedures.
• Administer general, regional, and other anesthesia within training and privileges.
• Monitor vital signs and physiological status during surgery.
• Manage airway complications and anesthesia-related emergencies.
• Provide postoperative pain management and recovery monitoring.
• Collaborate with surgeons and nurses for coordinated perioperative care.
• Maintain anesthesia records and ensure infection-control standards.
• Participate in audits, quality-improvement activities and education.
