AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Associate Principal Façade Engineer to lead technical delivery for a portfolio of façade projects across regional offices, including Dubai. You will mentor teams, engage clients, and ensure projects meet budgets and timelines while advancing engineering excellence.
The role requires extensive façade experience, strong leadership, and proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams with clear communication and stakeholder management.
The Associate Principal Façade Engineer will play a key leadership role in delivering façade engineering consultancy services across a diverse portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will lead the technical delivery of façade engineering solutions, manage project teams, engage directly with clients, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. This position requires strong technical expertise in façade systems, project management capabilities, and the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent across multiple regional offices.
Technical Leadership & Project Delivery Lead the technical delivery of façade engineering services on single-discipline and multidisciplinary projects. Take ownership of all assigned projects, providing engineering expertise and technical support to Façade Consultancy teams. Deliver multiple projects, or key workstreams of large-scale projects, ensuring successful completion within agreed budgets and project schedules. Prepare and oversee façade and façade access deliverables, including: Engineering calculations Drawing packages Technical reports Specifications Design reviews and assessments Provide technical guidance on façade systems including: Structural glass assemblies Curtain wall systems Glazing systems Skylights Windows Building envelope solutions Client & Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients and project stakeholders. Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and problem-solving. Identify and resolve project challenges while ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction. Coordinate effectively with management and project teams across the Malaysia, Singapore, and Dubai offices.
Monitor project expenditure and resource utilization to ensure budgets and spend limits are achieved. Track project performance and report on progress, risks, and resource requirements. Conduct weekly planning sessions and provide regular progress reports for all projects under your responsibility. Contribute to bid preparation, proposals, and technical submissions, providing accurate assessments of team capabilities and resource requirements.
Supervise and mentor engineers and consultants within the Façade Engineering team. Support the professional growth and technical development of team members through coaching and training initiatives. Organize and deliver in-house technical training on façade engineering principles, systems, and best practices. Monitor team capacity and workload forecasts, identifying potential resourcing challenges and recommending solutions. Support recruitment activities and provide recommendations for hiring when required. Foster a collaborative, efficient, and high-performance team environment.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline. Extensive experience in façade engineering, façade consultancy, or building envelope design. Strong technical knowledge of: Curtain wall systems Glass and glazing design Façade access systems Structural glass engineering Skylight and window systems Proven experience leading multidisciplinary projects and managing technical teams. Strong understanding of relevant international façade design standards and building codes. Demonstrated client-facing experience with excellent stakeholder management skills. Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and resource planning. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
