Support Strategy Execution

This role will be responsible for supporting:

  • Managing portfolio growth and customer engagement throughout the lifecycle of a card customer
  • Ensuring balanced growth addressing Credit, Operations, Compliance, and Service Delivery risks
  • The design and development of best-in-class portfolio programs based on local needs and co-creating globally scalable solutions with the central team
  • Managing the delivery of regulatory changes to ensure they are delivered timely with seamless client experience and in a cost-effective manner
Business

Support to develop and implement strategies to grow the credit card portfolio in line with business targets. Support initiatives related to customer engagement & balance build, including end-to-end management of campaigns across channels to grow spending and balances. Support the credit card installment plans strategy, including the design and construction of payment plans, implementation of effective sales strategies, and revenue optimization. Work with Marketing and Analytics teams on customer segmentation to promote usage among existing customers. Help retain profitable customers and implement robust retention strategies. Review consumer behavior and market trends to identify improvement opportunities. Manage financial performance, develop forecasts and budgets, monitor actual performance, and identify mitigation opportunities. Regularly assess portfolio performance, analyze usage patterns, evaluate profitability, monitor customer feedback, and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure digital platforms function as per product constructs and optimize customer journeys. Focus on enhancing customer experience throughout the lifecycle, identify pain points, and implement initiatives to improve engagement and loyalty. Engage stakeholders for effective governance and controls around portfolio programs and processes. Evolve KPIs and performance dashboards aligned with strategic objectives to aid decision-making. Manage feedback/issues involving credit card business and work collaboratively across Risk, Operations, Marketing, Retail, Analytics, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and external partners supporting portfolio programs.

Processes

Support the execution of credit card business strategy, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless end-to-end customer journeys. Identify customer pain points and streamline processes. Support digitization of the portfolio lifecycle journey.

Execution and Implementation

Support delivery of large programs from initiation to benefit realization. Ensure successful execution across clients/businesses, mitigate risks, solve issues, develop plans, and ensure implementation aligns with timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Develop strong client relationships, serve as a knowledge resource, and identify new business opportunities supporting Mastercard solutions.

Team Collaboration & Culture

Develop sound business recommendations, deliver client presentations, organize work for oneself and junior team members, lead meetings, and contribute to solution development. Grow into ownership of project management and mentor junior staff. Be a strong brand ambassador for Mastercard and Data & Services.

  • Experience managing large, complex projects/programs in diverse, multicultural environments
  • Domain knowledge of the payments industry and hands-on program management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver support, direction, and technical expertise across disciplines and geographies
  • Strong presence in client organizations, offering industry insights and ideas
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; capable of defining scope, timelines, budgets, and reporting issues and risks effectively
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, work independently, think laterally, and perform cost/benefit/risk analyses
  • Leadership, motivation, and team development skills
Education & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Fluent in local language and English; other languages desirable (Arabic)
  • Comfortable with client interaction and relationship building
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of project management tools preferred
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in cards product and portfolio management
  • Regional experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Willingness to travel
