Role Context The Associate Landscape Architect takes ownership of landscape projects from design development through technical delivery while helping translate ambitious concepts into buildable, commercially viable environments. The position requires an understanding of public realm standards, planting, irrigation, regional conditions and the technical coordination needed to deliver integrated landscape schemes. The role also extends into studio development. Through design reviews, digital innovation, bid preparation, quality control and mentorship, the Associate will help strengthen design capability while supporting junior professionals and promoting new approaches to landscape architecture across the wider team.
The successful candidate will bring at least 10 years of professional landscape architecture experience with demonstrated capability in design development, technical delivery and multidisciplinary project coordination. A bachelor 's degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design or a relevant discipline is required, while postgraduate study will be advantageous. Candidates should understand public realm design, planting strategies, irrigation requirements, landscape detailing and regional design standards. Experience taking responsibility for complete technical packages and coordinating them with other disciplines is particularly important. Commercial awareness is also valuable, including exposure to project fees, cost plans, variations, proposals and resource planning. The position requires confidence when communicating with clients and the ability to guide design teams without losing sight of project objectives. Progress toward professional membership in Architecture, Urban Design or an equivalent relevant discipline is preferred. Applicants should provide a portfolio that clearly demonstrates landscape architecture design capability and completed project experience.
