AECOM's Urbanism Planning studio is currently seeking Associate Landscape Architects to join our dynamic team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our landscape architecture department, you will contribute to the design of diverse projects that shape the urban and natural environments of the region. The Associate Landscape Architect will be charged with developing and overseeing landscape design concepts for a variety of projects including urban parks, residential communities, and commercial developments.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and oversee landscape design concepts for a variety of projects including urban parks, residential communities, and commercial developments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate landscape elements with architectural and engineering designs.
• Conduct site analyses and prepare detailed site plans, planting plans, and construction documents.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of landscape projects.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and solutions effectively.
• Stay updated on sustainable design practices and incorporate them into landscape projects.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the overall growth of the landscape architecture department.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and design standards in the UAE and GCC-wide projects.
• Utilize advanced design software to create visually compelling and technically accurate landscape plans.
• Lead client interface and manage projects' contractual requirements.
• Drive and conduct site opportunity and constraint studies for projects, present proposals internally and externally, and derive design ideas for implementation and further consideration.
• Lead landscape architecture project deliverables with applicable landscape architecture authorities and client requirements.
• Able to develop new landscape architecture and building typologies applicable to projects and sites with conditions.
• Narrate landscape architecture ideas clearly through literature in reports and presentations and guide/mentor direct reports in effective report writing.
• Bridge between delivering design ideas and delivering to budget.
• Understand client objectives and steer design thinking accordingly.
• Actively engage in promoting innovative landscape architecture attributes and influence peers and reports.
• Promote using innovative digital tools in landscape architecture projects and engage in internal research and development.
• Identify new potential areas of innovation and improvement in design ideation and presentation from which the landscape architecture team can benefit.
• Manage, coordinate, and deliver landscape architecture bids and proposals while tailoring technical approaches, methodologies, and delivery structures. Prepare and coordinate the commercial aspects of bids in accordance with project expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in landscape architecture.
• Professional certificate.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling software.
• Working knowledge of ArcGIS, Revit, or other relevant design tools.
• Excellent understanding of sustainable design practices and their application in arid climates.
• Familiarity with local flora, environmental conditions, and design regulations in the UAE.
• Proven project management skills including budget control and timeline management.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced multicultural environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a plus.
