We are looking for an Associate Engineer to demonstrate advanced proficiency in Data Center technologies, systems, standards, operations, and procedures related to eHosting services. In this role, you will administrate a regional data center, ensuring proper monitoring and support is provided to data center customers. You will also provide technical guidance and support to other Data Center staff to deliver efficient and proficient support to our Data Center customers.
Responsibilities
Ensure efficient and proficient support to Data Center customers (24/7).
Ensure proper monitoring of all Data Center services and proper reporting for any abnormality or problems to concerned sections and management.
Provide onsite support to customers and provide technical support to other DCS team members.
Ensure the quality of all installation activities done by customers, vendors, and Etisalat staff.
Respond efficiently to customer technical requirements through available tools (email, phone, online portal, etc.) and follow up on cases until closed.
Assist in implementing appropriate working procedures, standards, and guidelines for Data Center Operations functions.
Demonstrate awareness and concern for quality standards, security guidelines, and safety regulations.
Provide Basic and Advanced Remote Hand services to customers, partners, and Etisalat internal departments.
Undertake full responsibility for all equipment in the area and maintain updated records.
Respond to any internal/external customer queries in coordination with all concerned.
Provide various network cable patching requirements such as UTP cables patching from customer racks to CPP, interconnect Fiber patching cords, etc.
Directly report/escalate to the onsite supervisor and management in case of any major activities, customer violations, emergencies, or outages.
Assist customers in fault diagnosis and troubleshooting efforts to resolve reported faults.
Ensure compliance with all ISMS policies and procedures for all data center support and operational processes.
Maintain an adequate level of all required logistics items for customer support purposes.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in communication, Computer or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
Related Professional Training, Certification or Membership:
Mandatory
Good understanding of TCP/IP networking.
Good understanding of Internet/Computer Security.
Good understanding of Computer Hardware and cable structuring work.
Cabling capability to lay, joint, and terminate UTP, Fibre, Coaxial, etc.
Basic data center infrastructure knowledge.
Capability to handle critical network components such as switch, firewall, router, simplified with MS Windows Server & LINUX.
Preferred
Installation Quality Standard.
Certified CCNA.
Years & Field of Experience required:
3 years of experience in the field of data center operations, computer communication, and networking. Good practical knowledge of “Best Practices” within the Data Center environment.
