Job Description
The Global Markets (Associate Director) Trader is a mid-entry-level position designed for individuals passionate about financial markets and eager to develop a career in trading. The role involves supporting the trading desk by executing trades, conducting market research, and assisting senior traders with various tasks. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in trading across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, and commodities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of trades under the supervision of senior traders.
- Monitor market conditions and update the team on relevant market movements.
- Ensure trades are executed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conduct research on global markets, including analyzing economic indicators, market trends, and news events.
- Prepare daily market reports and summaries for the trading desk.
- Assist in the development of trading strategies by providing data analysis and insights.
- Support the team in monitoring and managing risk exposure on trades.
- Ensure all trades adhere to the firm’s risk management guidelines.
- Report any potential risk issues to senior traders immediately.
- Participate in training sessions and learn from senior traders to build a strong foundation in trading.
- Stay updated on global market developments, financial instruments, and trading technologies.
- Continuously improve trading skills through practical experience and feedback.
- Assist in the maintenance of trading records and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Help with the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and client meetings.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, risk management, and operations, to ensure smooth trading processes.
- Understand and adhere to regulatory requirements relevant to trading activities.
- Participate in compliance training and keep abreast of any changes in regulations.
- Assist in ensuring that all trading activities are conducted in compliance with internal controls and industry standards.
Qualifications
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in trading, financial analysis, or a related field (internship experience is acceptable).
- Basic knowledge of financial markets, trading concepts, and financial instruments.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with trading platforms or financial analysis tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Highly motivated and eager to learn about global markets and trading.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- High level of integrity and adherence to ethical standards.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
