Qualifications

hyre is partnered with a prominent UAE authority on the appointment of an Associate Director to its registrar function.

This is a senior, decision-making role overseeing how companies are established, registered and supervised, combining strong legal expertise with regulatory judgement.

The appointment forms part of the function's succession planning, offering significant scope to progress into leadership of the registrar function in the coming years.

The Role

• Assessing and deciding on company formation, registration and licensing applications
• Providing legal and regulatory input across registrar matters
• Overseeing the ongoing corporate compliance of registered entities
• Supporting AML/KYC and beneficial ownership requirements
• Leading and contributing to compliance inspections and regulatory reviews
• Assessing potential breaches and recommending appropriate enforcement action
• Interpreting and applying companies legislation and regulation
• Working closely with law firms, corporate service providers and other key stakeholders
• Contributing to the development of the regulatory framework, policies and processes

Candidate Profile

• Law degree and a strong legal background, ideally including experience as a practising lawyer
• Experience gained within a leading law firm, government entity, regulator, free zone authority or professional services firm
• Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial and/or regulatory law
• Exposure to company formation, registration, licensing, corporate governance, AML/KYC, inspections and/or enforcement
• The judgement and confidence to make sound legal and regulatory decisions
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• The leadership capability and ambition to step into a head-of-function role over time

Direct registrar experience is advantageous but not essential. Lawyers with strong corporate or regulatory backgrounds who have advised extensively on company formation, registration, governance and compliance are encouraged to apply.
