Associate Director - GL & R2R

We are looking to hire an Associate Director Record to Report who will be responsible for leading the end-to-end R2R process, financial reporting, general ledger management, reconciliations, and driving process optimization for our client based in Dubai, one of the largest companies in the region.

This is a permanent role within the organization.

The role sits within the Finance Department and reports directly to the Senior Director Record to Report.

We are looking for a passionate finance leader who thrives on driving operational excellence and delivering high-quality financial reporting. You should also have strong experience in general ledger management, internal controls, reconciliations, and compliance with international accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
2. Oversee GL accuracy, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
3. Ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and local regulations
4. Manage sub-ledger reconciliations and fixed asset accounting
5. Drive standardization, automation, and process improvement initiatives
6. Act as a liaison with finance stakeholders, auditors, and regulators
7. Develop internal controls, governance frameworks, and risk mitigation strategies
8. Lead and develop a high-performing finance team

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (mandatory)
2. Professional certifications (CA, CPA, ACCA) preferred
3. 10+ years of experience in financial reporting and GL management
4. Strong experience in finance shared services or large-scale finance operations
5. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday)
6. Familiarity with reconciliation and automation tools (BlackLine, Trintech)
7. Excellent stakeholder management and team leadership skills
8. Experience working in the Middle East is preferred
