Job Summary

Our Credit Analysts possess extensive knowledge of our risk assessment and portfolio risk management framework. They support our Account Managers with credit reviews, ongoing risk monitoring, and client creditworthiness assessments. They also evaluate Standard Chartered's risk appetite against market and economic conditions across different markets and asset classes.

About Our Banking And Coverage Team

Our Banking and Coverage team manages and develops our Client Relationships globally. They collaborate across our network with product partners to deliver solutions in working capital, financing, trade, cash, and markets. These solutions include sustainable trade finance, credit derivatives, mergers, and acquisitions advisory.

About Corporate And Investment Banking (CIB)

For over 170 years, we have supported clients with transaction banking, financial markets, corporate finance, and borrowing needs, serving nearly 20,000 clients in fast-growing economies and active trade corridors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead credit reviews, analyze, and monitor client credit risk to ensure creditworthiness. Provide timely and insightful credit analysis of client portfolios.
  2. Spread financials, propose credit grades aligned with scorecards, document client risk and mitigants, and monitor for credit-related events.
  3. Partner with Banking, Coverage, and Risk teams to develop credit analysis, origination, and monitoring processes. Deliver client fraud risk assessments, documenting residual risks and mitigants.
  4. Identify business opportunities with acceptable risk profiles by supporting Relationship Managers, FI Bankers, and Product teams with product solutions and recommendations.
  5. Provide credit analysis considering market dynamics and client industry, including industry risks, competitive positioning, funding strategies, financial policies, treasury activities, and cash management.
  6. Analyze client cash flow and liquidity using ratio analysis and stress testing to assess balance sheet strength, cash flow, and profitability vulnerabilities.
  7. Assess reputational risk, including climate and sustainability risks.
Skills And Experience
  • Knowledge of risk management lifecycle, financial forecasting, and modeling.
  • Strong financial and quantitative skills, client due diligence, and understanding of client behaviors.
  • Product knowledge in Markets, Transaction Banking, and Corporate Finance.
  • Understanding of financial services regulation, data analysis, and visualization.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
