Job description

Role Purpose:

We are currently looking for an Associate Cost Manager to be based in our company and client offices in Dubai to work on a prestigious pre and post contract residential project.

The successful candidates will be responsible for showing high levels of technical capability, sound commercial knowledge and a good understanding of the key drivers for cost and value, capturing and sharing knowledge and driving innovation in service.

What this job involves:

  • Manage projects largely independently and dealing directly with clients, JLL management and taking ownership for delivery.
  • Robust knowledge of cost estimation in the UAE and a clear understanding of the levers associated with design to budget strategy.
  • Experience in Value Engineering across various RIBA design stages.
  • Manage team resources during both pre and post contract design stages.
  • Use CostX, Excel and other Microsoft Office programmes to an advanced level
  • Work pre contract including; reviewing detailed measurements, sections of BOQs, handle tender query responses, manage the PQQ process with support and input into value engineering at each design stage.
  • Work post contract including; being strong in contract administration, comfortable on site walks with project teams, prepare cash flow reports, draft monthly payment recommendations and weekly commercial dashboards, managing variations and assist in closing out projects and claims / variations.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Degree in related subject (BSc Quantity Surveying)
  • Professional membership (MRICS certified)

Other skills and experience should include:

  • 12+ years of working experience managing teams
