Amazon Middle East and North Africa FZ-LLC is seeking a Qualified Lawyer to support the Business Conduct & Ethics program across all entities in EMEA. The role entails implementing compliance initiatives and advising on anti-corruption laws, providing a unique opportunity to impact corporate governance.
The role will support the Business Conduct & Ethics program across all Amazon businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. You will help design, administer, and implement various elements of Amazon’s compliance and ethics program, including anti-corruption risk assessments; advice and guidance to attorneys and business leaders; policies on gifts, conflicts of interest, third party risk, corporate giving, etc.; managing education and communication initiatives; and partnering with BC&E investigations counsel, Internal Audit, HR, and Finance teams. The role reports to the Lead Business Conduct & Ethics Counsel for EMEA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified lawyer with 2+ years of post-qualification experience, including in compliance;
- Experience with international anti-corruption law e.g. FCPA or UK Bribery Act etc.
- Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent judgment and practical approach to legal advice;
- Project management/ program design and implementation experience;
- Experience with risk assessment and risk management;
- Ability and willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and changing environment;
- Familiarity with retail, cloud, software and/or media industries, and the respective regulatory environment;
- Team player who can build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels throughout the organization;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
