Associate Commercial Director (UAEN Talent Pool)

Manage Commercial / Business Development

  • Monitor external Cost Consultant's preparation of variations and payments throughout project durations while collaborating with consultants and Contract Administrators (acting as the Engineer) to influence positive commercial outcomes on project(s).

Core Operations Management

  • Analyze project correspondence and advise internal team members on commercial related matters to eliminate and mitigate risk.
  • Analyze external Cost Consultants and Contract Administrators' preparation of payment recommendations and certificates throughout project durations by reviewing documentation to establish funds are properly discharged in line with contract provisions.
  • Analyze external Cost Consultants and Contract Administrators' preparation of variations throughout project durations by reviewing documentation to establish appropriateness of substantiating documents and the correct compensation in respect to the variations claimed.
  • Hold regular project cost meetings to establish and review project costs against project budgets.
  • Represent the Client at project cost meetings to ensure efficient information flow.

Core Governance and Process Management

  • Review documentation and procedures implemented to ensure that latest corporate procedures are adhered to.
  • Manage value of variations and internal approvals to ensure compliance with corporate governance and process.
  • Follow approved processes and constantly look to improve such processes.

Core Organizational Management

  • Perform duties timely to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the correct quality.
  • Perform and oversee staff Performance Management Reviews (PDRs) to ensure performance is adequately monitored and rewarded.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and advise team members to influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Office-based job; required to work longer hours on computer.
  • Required to travel to project sites to attend coordination and progress meetings.

Formal Education

University Degree or diploma preferable in quantity surveying from a recognized educational establishment or the equivalent engineering degree or diploma.

Work Experience

At least 10 years industry relevant experience including 7 years UAE/GCC experience.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Working knowledge in using Excel, Word, and Oracle.
