A leading organization in the regions construction and development sector is seeking an experienced Associate Commercial Director to take charge of commercial management across major capital projects. This role is key to ensuring financial discipline, contractual compliance, and successful delivery of complex developments.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Business Oversight

  • Manage external cost consultants in the preparation of variations and payment assessments.

  • Collaborate with contract administrators and consultants to drive favorable commercial outcomes across projects.

Project Operations

  • Review and interpret project correspondence to advise internal teams on commercial risk mitigation.

  • Analyze payment recommendations and variation claims to ensure alignment with contractual terms and sufficient supporting documentation.

  • Lead project cost meetings to track financial performance against budgets.

  • Represent the clients interests in all commercial and cost-related discussions.

Governance & Process Management

  • Ensure adherence to corporate procedures and governance throughout project lifecycles.

  • Manage variation values and internal approval processes to ensure compliance.

  • Identify and implement improvements in commercial processes and practices.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Oversee and deliver staff performance reviews (PDRs).

  • Mentor, guide, and motivate commercial team members to take ownership and deliver excellence.

  • Support a culture of accountability, precision, and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 10 years of industry experience, with at least 7 years in the UAE or GCC.
    • Proven leadership in commercial roles on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Skills:

    • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Oracle
