About The Role
We are looking for an Associate Buyer - Menswear for our multi-luxury department store. The candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the area's sales through the purchase of high-quality merchandise at advantageous prices to meet merchandising standards, sales, and profit objectives.
What You’ll Be Doing
Functional Roles and Responsibilities:
- Return faulty merchandise to suppliers with correct documentation to ensure credit is received. Return samples when no longer required.
- Enter orders into the system after the buying trip, ensuring minimal discrepancies.
- Visit the warehouse regularly to resolve shipment discrepancies and liaise with suppliers for any variances or damages.
- Maintain communication with suppliers to facilitate efficient ordering, delivery, and payment processes.
- Assist the Buyer in researching and selecting the best quality merchandise suppliers domestically and internationally at the best prices to maximize sales and margins.
- Place re-orders in consultation with buyers and communicate relevant information to planning and supply chain teams.
- Maintain an accurate database of vendor agreements and forward completed agreements to Merchandise Planning.
- Assist sales staff with customer service, special orders, and stock information.
- Consolidate buying feedback reports and provide recommendations per brand portfolio.

Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Graduate
- Experience in international multi-luxury menswear across categories is essential.
- At least 2 years of buying experience, preferably in department stores.
- Strong awareness of fashion trends.
- Excellent planning and financial skills.
- Willingness to travel and develop professional networks.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience in buying and supply within retail industry.
- Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
- Good business acumen and results-oriented mindset.
- Accountability and interpersonal skills.
