The Associate - Accounts Receivable is responsible for managing the company's incoming payments, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and maintaining strong relationships with clients regarding outstanding invoices. This role involves monitoring accounts, processing transactions, reconciling payments, and assisting in the resolution of billing discrepancies. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, possess strong numerical skills, and have experience with accounting software and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
Process and manage incoming payments by recording transactions in the accounting system.
Generate and issue invoices to clients accurately and on time.
Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
Communicate with clients regarding billing issues and provide resolutions in a professional manner.
Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Assist in preparing financial reports related to accounts receivable, including aging reports.
Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales and customer service, to resolve payment discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and financial regulations.
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes by providing relevant financial data.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of transactions for auditing purposes.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a similar finance role.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent numerical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with collection strategies and credit control procedures.
Experience in working with ERP systems is an advantage.
Knowledge of tax regulations and financial compliance is a plus.
