Assistant Technician Power Distribution - MV

We are looking for an Assistant Technician Power Distribution - Medium Voltage to carry out preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on medium voltage power distribution systems and assets. The role involves working individually or as part of a technical team, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Key Accountabilities

1. Conform to all general and technical safety requirements to ensure health, safety, and welfare of self and others.
2. Perform work as assigned by the electrical supervisor/duty engineer to achieve operational goals.
3. Read, interpret, and describe the functionality of electrical drawings (circuit, wiring diagrams, schematic, and layout drawings).
4. Conduct Ring Main Unit functional tests, fuse replacements, and inspect internal components.
5. Perform functional tests, inspection, and maintenance of MV transformers and internal components.
6. Carry out intrusive and non-intrusive maintenance on MV switchgears, earth testing programs, and thermal image surveys.
7. Assist and lead periodic preventive maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, inspections, condition assessments, condition-based maintenance, corrective maintenance, and configuration/modifications.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. High School Certificate or Industrial Training Institute Diploma (3-year duration) in Electrical Maintenance or equivalent.
2. IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent.
3. Current valid UAE driving license is desirable.
4. Minimum three (3) years of experience in a structured cabling environment or similar.
5. Experience in airport environments is an advantage.
6. Proficiency in spoken and written English.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, stakeholders, and customers in English.
8. Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
9. Ability to perform electrical isolations, LOTO, planned preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and breakdown maintenance on MV & LV equipment safely and correctly.
