Job description

An Assistant Structural Engineer is required to join our team at the Atkins Design Centre Dubai. The successful candidate must hold a Structural Engineering degree and have up to 3 years of professional experience.

Position

This role reports directly to the Lead/Senior Structural Engineer, the Principal Structural Engineer, and ultimately the Structural Engineering Design Director. The individual will be responsible for delivering structural engineering solutions that meet technical compliance with Atkins Design Principles and contributing to the technical delivery of structural design on projects within the Dubai Design Centre.

Main Responsibilities

1. Contribute to the technical performance of structural engineering design on projects within the Dubai Design Centre.
2. Coordinate with the Bangalore Centre of Excellence to maximize their contribution to the Dubai projects.
3. Monitor the basis of appointment to prevent unapproved variations; report any variations to the project Lead/Senior Structural Engineer.
4. Collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment to ensure design solutions are efficient and do not pose risks to Atkins' Market Sector/Country Business Units.

Communication and Working Relationships

• Work directly with Engineers and Architects in Dubai and Bangalore.

Minimum Requirements

• Recognized degree in Structural Engineering.
• Knowledge of structural engineering for building projects.
• 0-3 years of professional experience.
• Understanding of structural engineering fundamentals, steelwork, concrete, and related analysis and design software.
• Familiarity with European and/or US design codes/standards.
• Ability to develop elegant engineering solutions collaboratively.
• Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent time management skills.
