OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM THE ROLE:

This entry-level management position oversees daily operations in restaurants, assists with menu planning, maintains sanitation standards, supports servers and hosts during peak times, and supervises the Restaurants/Bars and Room Service Departments, ensuring guest and associate satisfaction while adhering to operating standards and legal obligations.

Scope/Business Context

• Full-time position based at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai.
• Number of direct reports varies based on operations.
• Reports to supervisors and above.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within a five-star hotel.

Education or Certification

• High school diploma or GED plus 4 years of experience in food, beverage, culinary, or related professional areas.

OR

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality Business Administration, or related major; plus 2 years of relevant experience.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Operational & Administrative Tasks

• Serve as a role model or mentor by working alongside employees to perform technical or functional duties.
• Assign and ensure timely completion of work tasks meeting quality standards.
• Train hourly employees on company values, roles, responsibilities, and service standards.
• Motivate employees, encourage best performance, and involve them in decision-making and improvements.
• Assist management in providing necessary resources for effective job performance.

• Establish and communicate goals, expectations, timelines, and deadlines to employees.
• Coach and develop employees.
• Gather suggestions for process improvements and act on them with management support.
• Coordinate tasks with other departments for efficient operations.
• Develop and implement ideas and procedures to improve department performance based on guest and employee satisfaction scores.
• Ensure completion of online training modules by staff.
• Prepare detailed daily and monthly reports on time.
• Handle guest comments or complaints through GXI and ensure case closure.
• Raise purchase requests promptly to ensure operational equipment availability.
• Update the checkbook regularly, ensuring POs are received, closed, and posted monthly.
• Assist with staff scheduling.
• Ensure opening and closing checklists are completed daily.
• Lead monthly beverage inventory with the Cost Control team.
• Train cashiers on proper cash handling procedures in line with ISRA audits.
• Maintain inventory records of operational equipment.
