Job description

The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure an exceptional guest experience, high employee engagement, and efficient business performance. This role works closely with the Restaurant Manager to lead staff, oversee service quality, maintain safety and cleanliness standards, and meet financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations & Service:

  • Supervise daily front-of-house and/or back-of-house operations.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality and service standards.
  • Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards.

2. Team Leadership & Development:

  • Train, schedule, and support restaurant staff.
  • Motivate team members to meet performance goals.
  • Assist with performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Help create a positive and professional work environment.

3. Customer Relations:

  • Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Support promotional and customer loyalty programs.

4. Financial Management:

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Monitor sales and labor costs to ensure profitability.
  • Help manage cash handling, POS operations, and end-of-day reconciliation.
