Description

The Assistant Resident Engineer will support and work on projects related to Stormwater & Drainage, Flood Alleviation, Wastewater Networks, Water Distribution Networks, Pumping Stations, and Recycling Plants. Responsibilities include investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration, construction supervision, and monitoring. The role is based in Abu Dhabi.

Key accountabilities include:

1. Technical Delivery
2. Assist the Resident Engineer in managing daily utilities works, interacting with contractors, subcontractors, laboratories, and monitoring construction activities.
3. Coordinate with government departments, contractors, consultants, and the public to facilitate progress and prevent delays.
4. Maintain project logs, arrange progress meetings, review shop drawings, design proposals, and prepare reports and cost estimates.
5. Supervise inspectors and surveyors, review and approve design documents and construction plans, and assist in project reporting.
6. Manage the handover of utility works to service authorities, identify non-conforming works, and implement corrective actions.

Collaboration and Teamwork

Work with engineers on design problems, conduct feasibility studies and site investigations, and liaise with remote teams. Good communication skills are essential.

Client Service Management

Maintain relationships with internal and external clients, especially in utility diversions and management.

Safety and Compliance

Follow safe work practices, adhere to company policies, and design with safety considerations such as Construction Design Management.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Resident Engineer.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with at least 8 years of experience in miscellaneous Drainage Work Projects. Experience in SWS Water Infrastructure Projects is advantageous.
