Job summary

WSP Middle East is seeking a dynamic Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil) to support overseeing electrical engineering projects within the ADDC/AADC domain in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will assist in ensuring projects meet specifications, timelines, budgets, and safety standards while coordinating with Resident Engineer and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
• Experience as Assistant Resident Engineer or similar on large infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and site supervision practices.
• Experience reviewing submittals and QA compliance.
• Proficiency in engineering and project management software.
• Strong communication and teamwork across disciplines.
• Familiarity with UAE local authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support Resident Engineer across electrical engineering activities and projects.
• Review technical issues on site and propose practical solutions.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, method statements and QA documentation.
• Coordinate and supervise site inspections; monitor construction progress.
• Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are followed.
• Support resource planning and coordination with CRCs and project teams.
• Monitor contractor performance and compliance with specifications.
• Prepare progress reports, technical assessments and site instructions.
• Attend meetings with clients, contractors and authorities; follow up on actions.
• Support project close-out activities including testing and handover.
