Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer - Civil to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the construction and supervision projectsof a sewerage network and pumping station project, ensuring that it is completed according to the approved design and specifications, and in compliance with local regulations and ADSSC requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in managing the construction project, including coordinating with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders
• Review and approve construction drawings, materials, and method statements
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Monitor project progress and report on any issues or delays
• Coordinate with the client and obtain necessary approvals from ADSSC
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and specifications
• Prepare and review project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and payment certificates
• Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team
• Assist in resolving any technical issues or conflicts that may arise during construction
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on project status and issues
• Ensure that all project activities are carried out in accordance with Stantec's quality management system
• Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction supervision of sewerage networks and pumping stations
• Previous experience working in the United Arab Emirates is preferred
• Familiarity with ADSSC regulations and approval processes
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and materials
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
