Job summary

Oneworks is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support the Resident Engineer in supervising construction activities for airport-related projects. The role requires coordinating multidisciplinary site supervision, monitoring contractor performance, and maintaining accurate records throughout the project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates will have a civil/engineering degree, 12+ years of post-graduate experience, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant post-graduate construction and engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years in site supervision roles, including experience as an Assistant Resident Engineer or similar leadership position.
• Minimum 3 years of direct experience on airport construction, airport expansion, airport rehabilitation, or operational airport projects.
• Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary construction coordination.
• Working knowledge of FIDIC-based construction contracts and formal project communication procedures.
• Experience in testing, commissioning, handover, and project close-out.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in administering and supervising construction works.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary site supervision activities and monitor Contractor performance.
• Maintain reliable contemporaneous records and identify technical and contractual risks.
• Provide documented recommendations to the Resident Engineer.

Job Purpose

The Assistant Resident Engineer supports the Resident Engineer in administering and supervising the construction works in accordance with the Contract, approved drawings, specifications, applicable authority requirements, approved method statements, quality requirements, and the accepted project programme.

The role coordinates multidisciplinary site supervision activities, monitors the Contractor's performance, maintains reliable contemporaneous records, identifies technical and contractual risks, and provides documented recommendations to the Resident Engineer.

Job requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant post-graduate construction and engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years in site supervision roles, including experience as an Assistant Resident Engineer or in an equivalent site leadership position.
• Minimum 3 years of direct experience on airport construction, airport expansion, airport rehabilitation, or operational airport projects.
• Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary construction coordination.
• Working knowledge of FIDIC-based construction contracts and formal project communication procedures.
• Experience in testing, commissioning, handover, and project close-out.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Salary Range AED 25,000 - AED 32,000 per mont

Preferred Requirements

• Professional engineering registration, chartership, or recognised professional membership.
• Experience in live airport, airside, security-controlled, or operational environments.
• Relevant professional certification and working familiarity with common data environments, electronic document control systems, BIM coordination platforms, and planning software.
