Job description

Job Purpose:

  • Preparation of credit proposal for new and existing deals under CF portfolio, ensuring the required parameters under bank’s credit policy have been followed and high quality of the credit submission is maintained.
  • Closely monitor the assigned credit portfolio to avoid any irregularity and to maintain good health of credit risk assets and keep the seniors informed about developments.
  • Raising technical authorization requests for temporary excess limits and extension of facilities validity dates etc so as to obtain timely authorization for credit facilities from appropriate authorities.
  • Monitor the annual review timeline and ensure submission of annual review of existing facilities is made within the annual review timelines. Complete annual review pack is submitted to credit after sign off from CF.
  • Preparing the financial spread, Moody’s Risk Assessment rating and complete any associated annual credit memo and summary of limits sheet for submission to credit on time.
  • Preparation of interim credit memo to seek credit approvals on any amendments and waiver / enhancements requested by the clients.
  • Coordinate with other departments to render effective services to corporate finance customers.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Write credit appraisal including financial, business and risk analysis and ensuring that Credit Approval Package is submitted as per credit policies, TMRAC and CBUAE guidelines.
  • Liaise with the respective day to day client contacts to source the required information for completion of annual review.
  • Actively support the development of business through the SM CF and Head of CF by marketing new customers and also through the existing customers.
  • Ensure timely submission of credit proposals as per agreed SLA/ TAT with credit in general and in case of exceptions on a deal-to-deal basis.
  • Technical authorizations for any excess over limit, extension of expiring lines etc for the assigned portfolio, so as to obtain timely authorization from the concerned departments.
  • Maintain good quality portfolio by effective monitoring of past dues and credit quality. Ensure asset classification is in line with regulatory and policy guidelines.
  • Manage problem loans closely and recommending appropriate strategy and remedial action plan in consultation with SRM CF and Head of CF.
  • Coordinate with corporate support team in operational & back-office work for timely preparation of securities documentation and periodic reports for submission to respective teams in H.O. and management of credit files.
  • Participate and assist in all credit-related aspects of internal/external audits including Central Bank inspection.
  • Handling the day-to-day operational tasks under the existing facilities related to receipt of scheduled payments (Principal + Interest) and rollovers.
  • Monitor the financial covenants under existing deals for early alerts in advance of due dates and source any pending information on deals through respective facility agent or from the Borrower, as applicable.
  • Coordinate with account opening team for opening of new accounts and ensure of completion of KYC requirements and compliance procedure.
  • Attend conferences and seminars for networking with banks and corporate clients.
  • Work on client pitches, IM, Term Sheets, Mandate Letters, Commitment letters and NDAs.
  • Complete trainings from time to time as and when assigned by the training and development team.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree Preferably in Commerce & Finance.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of Credit Risk management and corporate lending.
  • Good understanding of protocols and procedures to be compliant with UAE regulations and requirements.
  • Good credit assessment, structuring and documentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and update credit risk management policy, procedures, documentation.
