Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Accounting from a reputable university, preferably AACSB-accredited
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) preferred
• Two or more years of teaching experience at an internationally reputable university
• Evidence of excellence in teaching Accounting topics at undergrad and graduate levels
• Outstanding record of research and peer‑reviewed publications in top journals (SCOPUS, ABDC, ABS)
• Collaborative and interdisciplinary research experience advantageous
• Experience supervising student projects and dissertations
• Strong record of professional and community service

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and assess graduate and undergraduate Accounting courses (including Taxation and Auditing)
• Engage in innovative, technology‑based teaching methods
• Provide academic advising to students
• Conduct high‑quality research and publish results in reputable venues
• Participate in department and university committees and service tasks
• Promote the growth and visibility of Ajman University
• Provide consultancy and industry-facing services to partners

Assistant Professor of Accounting

The College of Business Administration (CBA) at Ajman University has an opening for the position of Assistant Professor of Accounting, starting in Spring 2026/2027. The selected candidate will have primary teaching and research interests in Accounting and will be expected to teach in graduate and undergraduate programs. The selected candidate will also be expected to actively engage with the business community. Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience in Accounting. The College of Business Administration is accredited by AACSB.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Ph.D. in Accounting obtained from a reputable university, preferably an internationally ranked institution that is also accredited by AACSB

• Professional Accounting qualification from a reputable accounting body (such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is preferred

• Two or more years of teaching experience in an internationally reputable university, preferably accredited by AACSB

• Demonstrable record of excellence in developing and teaching (but not limited to) Managerial Accounting, Computerized Accounting, Taxation, Auditing, and related courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels

• Outstanding record of research and peer-reviewed publications in top-tier Accounting or related journals (SCOPUS, ABDC, ABS)

• A record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research would be an advantage

• Demonstrable record of supervising student projects and dissertations

• Excellent record of professional and community service

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
