Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting high-quality research, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and contributing to curriculum development in cyber security. The role also involves mentoring students, securing research funding, and engaging in service activities at the department and university levels.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Teaching & Curriculum Development
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cyber security, including but not limited to network security, ethical hacking, cryptography, digital forensics, and cyber risk management.
  • Develop and update course materials to align with the latest advancements in the field.
  • Supervise student projects, theses, and dissertations.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods, including online learning platforms, hands-on labs, and real-world case studies.
  • Research & Scholarly Activities
  • Conduct and publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
  • Pursue external funding through grants, partnerships, and collaborations.
  • Collaborate with industry, government agencies, and academic peers on cyber security research initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor graduate and undergraduate students in research projects.
  • Service & Professional Development
  • Participate in departmental, school, and university committees.
  • Engage in outreach activities, including partnerships with industry and government agencies.
  • Contribute to the development of cybersecurity programs, workshops, and seminars.
  • Maintain professional development through certifications, conferences, and research collaborations

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field from top 500 QS-ranked universities, preferably western accredited universities.
  • Strong publication record in reputable journals and conferences.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
  • Experience in developing and delivering cyber security curriculum.

Desirable

  • Industry experience or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CISM, OSCP).
  • Experience in securing research funding and grants.
  • Knowledge of emerging cyber threats, AI-driven security, blockchain security, or cloud security.
  • Strong industry and academic collaborations
