Job summary

GEMS International School – Dubai Hills seeks an outstanding Assistant Principal for Wellbeing & Pastoral to join the Senior Leadership Team from January 2027. You will drive whole‑school wellbeing, behaviour, safeguarding and inclusion across Primary and Secondary, ensuring every student feels safe, valued and empowered to thrive academically and personally.

Reporting to the Senior Vice Principal – Student Life & Culture, you will lead on Be a GEM, student voice, and enrichment initiatives

Qualifications

• Recognised teaching qualification at degree level (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent).
• Experience leading pastoral initiatives and student wellbeing.
• Experience in IB or international school environment preferred.
• Ability to work across Primary and Secondary.
• Strong safeguarding and child-protection understanding.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible whole-school leadership across Primary and Secondary.
• Develop and implement behaviour and pastoral frameworks including Be a GEM initiative.
• Lead wellbeing initiatives with safeguarding, counselling and inclusion teams.
• Champion student voice, leadership and community engagement.
• Support Beyond 100 enrichment and co-curricular opportunities.
• Promote Emirati culture and international-mindedness.
• Monitor student wellbeing using data to drive improvements.
• Build partnerships with students, families and staff for consistent wellbeing support.
• Contribute to safeguarding compliance and inspection readiness.
