Overview

We’re looking for a compassionate Practical Midwife to join our Labor & Delivery team. In this role, you’ll support mothers through all stages of childbirth, assist during deliveries, and provide newborn care under the supervision of a Registered Midwife.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing care during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages under supervision
  • Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing, including interpreting CTG and observing labor progress
  • Support obstetricians and pediatricians during deliveries and newborn care
  • Provide comfort, education, and emotional support to mothers and families
  • Assist with breastfeeding, newborn feeding, and skin-to-skin practices
  • Document patient data accurately in the EMR
  • Participate in quality and safety practices, infection control, and emergency preparedness
  • Escalate clinical concerns appropriately and contribute to safe, patient-centered care

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Nursing with additional Midwifery qualification
  • Current Department of Health (DOH) license as a Practical Midwife or Assistant Midwife
  • Minimum 2 years of post-midwifery qualification experience
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
